About
Hi, I’m Víctor.
I’m an environmental steward, visual artist, and writer. In January 2023, I joined the team at Anicka Yi Studio, which works at the crossroads of contemporary art and science. My research interests include environmental aesthetics, green urbanism, nature in visual culture, and design and indigeneity.
Originally from one of the breadbasket regions of Central California, I am currently based in Brooklyn, NY. I was a Presidential Fellow and hold an MA in Nature-Culture-Sustainability Studies from the Rhode Island School of Design, as well as a BA in Environmental Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz. In the past, I’ve worked for various non-profit teams and agencies, including the Environmental Defense Fund de México and Frans Lanting Studio, home to acclaimed wildlife documentarians.
In my free time, I enjoy sewing, hiking, independent films, and art museums.
